Auxiliary Board

Teen Living Programs’ Auxiliary Board is a group of Chicago-area professionals who support and enhance TLP by generating resources, assisting with public relations, and volunteering with agency youth. The Board plans, develops, and implements recreational activities for youth; acts as a fundraising arm of the TLP Board of Directors; and serves as spokespersons for TLP to the greater public.

Auxiliary Board Activities

Plan youth recreational activities (e.g. hosting field trips to museums, holiday parties, attending Chicago sporting events). Involvement in these events can range from attending to planning or even sponsoring the event.
Donate clothes, books, and supplies (TLP youth always need winter coats, professional attire, books, magazine, and toiletries.) [orange links to in-kind gifts]. Personal gifts are always welcome, but another way to become involved is to host a professional clothing drive at work.
Host, attend, help plan networking/fundraising events. Events help raise awareness of, and funds for TLP.
Attend monthly meetings (usually at a downtown location)

Auxiliary Board Events

TLP’s Auxiliary Board leads several events each year, each helping to raise funds and friends for our successful programs and services. For information about sponsoring or helping to plan these events, please contact Emily Krisciunas.

Dream a Bigger Dream Gala is Teen Living Programs’ annual black-tie fundraiser. Each year, the Auxiliary Board contributes to the event by raising funds for youth recreational activities. Mark your calendar. Next year’s Dream a Bigger Dream Gala is March 6, 2010.

TLP on Tap is the Auxiliary Board’s annual fundraising event held at a local pub. The 2009 event was held at Lizzie McNeill’s Irish Pub on the Chicago River. Check back for info about the 2010 event.

Thanks for Giving is an annual tradition, when the TLP community comes together to express gratitude for our dedicated and generous volunteers. This year’s Thanks for Giving event is November 21, 2009.

Bud Billiken Day Picnic is a fun-filled BBQ held to coincide with Chicago’s annual Bud Billiken Day parade, the second Saturday of August. This year’s event is August 8, 2009.
