Being homeless is traumatic. It takes an enormous toll on body, mind, and spirit. For many of our youth, caring for nutritional and emotional needs seems like a luxury they cannot afford.

Nurturing mental and physical health is the bedrock upon which all of our programs are built. Through the clinical director, youth development specialists, psychiatrists, and therapists, youth have on-site access to psychiatric care and psychotherapy; substance abuse counseling and treatment referrals.

TLP's nurse practitioner staffs the on-site Belfort House health clinic, providing immediate and ongoing primary healthcare and health education; conducting communicable disease screenings, pregnancy tests, and vaccinations; and giving referrals for serious illness, vision, and dental care.

A culinary nutritionist works with youth to incorporate nutritional goals into their Individual Action Plans, and teaches youth how to shop for, prepare, and cook nutritionally sound meals.
