TLP’s achievements —our successes in helping teens who are homeless transition to self-sufficient and satisfying lives— are possible thanks to a roster of fund and friend-raising activities. Check out our upcoming events, mark your calendars, and spread the word.
Thanks for Giving is an annual tradition when the TLP community comes together to express gratitude for our dedicated and generous volunteers. Staff and youth prepare a Thanksgiving meal and share it with their families, board members, TLP supporters, and members of our community. Join us for this year’s Thanks for Giving on November 21, 2009—the first one at our new residential facility!
The TLP Gift Wrapping Party is one of our holiday traditions. Each year, generous individuals and companies donate hundreds of gifts to our youth, which they open at our annual holiday party. Join us on Wednesday, December 16th to wrap presents and get in the holiday spirit at our downtown offices.
Dream a Bigger Dream Gala is Teen Living Programs’ annual black-tie event, and the organization’s largest fundraiser. Our 2009 event, held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, raised a record-breaking $350,000! Don’t miss next year’s event, to be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Fairmont Chicago, featuring music by the Gentlemen of Leisure, and our Community Advocate and Keynote Speaker, Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez. Tickets to the Gala are $250 and sponsorships range from $3,500 to $25,000.
Community Meetings are the perfect way to experience the work of TLP firsthand. Our community meetings are held on the third Thursday (except for November and December) of each month at our residential facility. Read and share our community meeting invitation here.
